Pole Mountain Lookout is a 501(c)(3) volunteer-led effort that maintains a strategic wildfire lookout serving West Sonoma County. Situated on the 2,204-foot summit of Pole Mountain between Cazadero and Jenner, it provides early detection and real-time intelligence to state agencies across a broad coastal and inland view shed.
In partnership with Sonoma Land Trust at the Pole Mountain Preserve, the site is staffed and outfitted with two high-performance 360° PTZ cameras to spot and verify smoke within roughly 25 miles and aid precise response.
Hikers can reach the summit via the Sea to Sky Trail from Jenner Headlands Preserve, with sweeping views from Bodega Bay to Timber Cove and inland to Lake and Napa counties.
